“Making employees “happy” is not the responsibility of their company!”
“Happiness at work: the cornerstone of success.“
Happiness at work is certainly a controversial topic with an ingrained vision and conventional scheme of what a company should be.
The same could be applied to the school system, which has remained the same for decades.
If you think about it, what makes you happy at work? In case you can’t find any reason of being happy at work, try to think of what could make your work life enjoyable.
We wake up, go to work, respond to emails, communicate with colleagues, work on our tasks and then we go back home, spend time with family and friends and hopefully on some activities we love.
Looking at it this way doesn’t seems to be that bad or that great. However, going to work every day, spending most of our hours sitting at the same desk, on the same chair surrounded by the same people can be the greatest moment of the day, the loneliest or the worst.
Why is that?
Our environment shapes us, how we feel, how we react, communicate and perform. If this applies to our private life, it certainly applies to our work life and impacts our results and mood at work.
Certainly, being happy comes from within; nonetheless, external factors contribute to our positive or negative feelings.
Employees don’t ask their company to make them happy but to create an environment in which they thrive, feel heard, and valued.
Plenty of factors contribute to employee engagement and efficiency. We often think about the company culture and its values. While these are essential, they remain the tip of the iceberg when it comes to employee satisfaction.
We believe harmonious environments are created by the people and not only thanks to the physical space (design, architecture, colours, etc.).
Happiness at work provides simple but positive outcomes
Beaming employees are:
🔸 58% more likely to go out of their way to help their customers and colleagues
🔸 20% more productive and they likely perform at a higher level.
Concerning salespeople specifically, their happiness at work leads them to produce 37% more profit. Which should be considerably taken into account when it comes to the company’s ROI.
We have spoken with many employees who feel frustrated with the management of their company, or direct manager. The main cause is related to the fact they don’t feel valued and their work is not recognized. They wish to work in companies where the management and employees can understand each other better to achieve greater things.
We frequently observed frustration as a common yet unaddressed issue among employees. This frustration often leads to a decrease in productivity and so impacts the company at its core.
Recognizing this widespread challenge, our founder, Cécile Lammer, launched Ceicia in 2022. Her mission is to support companies and employees to navigate in the same direction. Hence, it starts with Improving both parties’ communication and understanding to build successful company’s ecosystem.
Do you still believe “Making employees “happy” is not the responsibility of their company!”?
